Documenting the relationship between human expression and the natural world is central to Jivan West’s practice. Originally trained as a photojournalist, West creative directed, produced, and self-published his own magazine, Guns of The West in 2023. Using his voice as an American-born artist working in London, West highlights those who push past typical categorical identities in art and fashion, to establish a more sustainable and equitable future. West’s ongoing documentary work focuses on the climate crisis in the American West, capturing the aftermath of Colorado wildfires since 2020.
